Last weekend was my last weekend of freedom before I went back to school for the start of the new year. I knew I would be wrecked by the end of the week and I was not disappointed. I can still barely move. That's what 25 darling seven year olds can do to a grown woman who has spent the last 5 weeks indulging in personal pleasures. I need to toughen up.
So last week, knowing what lay ahead, I decided to make a quick project with some of my scrap fabrics and I put together 12 autumn colour blocks.
I am so glad I did this because I don't think I will be playing with my sewing machine today.
What lovely colors and fabrics! What is your method for picking the colors, just throwing them together? I love the little greens and blues that sneak in here, hints of the summer past or winter coming, I think. <3
ReplyDeleteI can't for the life of me figure out how you guys do those uneven off-kilter courtyard steps blocks, I think I would just start wigging out halfway through that they're uneven, even if that is the point. ;)
I love your Autumn blocks. Very striking! How are you going to put them together? I hope you'll get a good rest over the weekend so you'll be ready again for another week with your bunch of seven year olds. Thinking of you! Vreni x
ReplyDeleteOh, what neat blocks! I love your colors. You have a great "eye".
ReplyDeleteI have never done blocks like these. I have made a traditional block that we call a log cabin.
Good luck with your new class. I love the start of the school year and meeting a new class. I do know that it is very tiring!
I hope your teaching muscles toughen up so you have enough energy to sew again soon!!!
ReplyDeleteThese blocks are wonderful! My favorite kind. Best wishes with the new school year!
ReplyDeleteLove these!!
